The Methanol Institute (MI) is collaborating with AMF in the organization of a webinar to launch the latest Annex 56 report on Methanol as Motor Fuel. The webinar which takes place on October 26, 2020, at 1500 HRS (CET) will feature writers of the report as speakers to convey key report takeaways on methanol. The writers of the report are from the following organizations: Danish Technological Institute (Denmark), Deutsches Biomasseforschungszentrum (Germany), Fachagentur Nachwachsende Rohstoffe (Germany), Lund University (Sweden), Swedish Transport Administration (Sweden), Technion (Israel), and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland (Finland).
In an era marked by calls for rapid decarbonization and lower emissions, many alternative fuels have come to the fore offering solutions to the climate challenge. Methanol is one of the alternative fuels that has gained traction due to its clean-burning properties and ability to be produced in a net carbon-neutral format. Methanol has had a long history as a fuel, and its ability to be a drop-in fuel that is compatible with existing ICE technology and fuel infrastructure are some of the key characteristics that allow its almost seamless inclusion in the global fuel mix.
This webinar will explore some the key reasons why methanol can be an alternative fuel aligned with the priorities of today on the energy and climate fronts.
